“When a local landowner put in an application to build some modern 3 storey townhouses in our historic hamlet among several listed buildings, the residents, myself included, were horrified. Since he had paid a professional to write the application, it was full of local and national policies as well as jargon and we felt that we needed some professional help ourselves in order to mount a credible appeal. We stumbled upon ‘Help Me Object’ and Owen agreed to write a ‘group class’ letter on behalf of all of the residents. His letter was factual, direct and well-phrased. He backed up any arguments made with reference to current legislation and policy adding gravitas that we would never have been able to supply with any conviction. This was done within quite a tight time frame.The application was turned down by our local council but the land owner went on to appeal to the Secretary of State. Once again we asked Owen to help us out and once again, Owen delivered within an even tighter deadline. The appeal by the landowner was once again turned down, much to our relief.
